On April 7th, 2016 Tõnis Tamme, board member of the Rail Baltic Business Network and partner at law firm TRINITI in charge of infrastructure and transport matters, moderated a discussion panel at the North Sea Baltic Connector of Regions kick-off conference „TEN-T Urban Nodes for the Regional Development“.
The subject before the panel was „TEN-T Corridors and business potentials, case North Sea – Baltic“ and the discussion was held by Mrs Catherine Trautmann, MEP and European Coordinator of the North Sea Baltic (NSB) Core Network Corrdior (CNC) and Mrs Baiba Rubesa, CEO of RB Rail AS, the joint venture between Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania to develop the new conventional high-speed railway Rail Baltic.
NSB connector of regions is financed by Interreg and the aim of the project is to improve the sustainable accessibility of the Eastern Baltic Sea Region to freight and passenger transport. The project is part of the implementation of the NSB CNC work plan via the Corridor Forum in which the member states, infra managers and regions communicate with the European Commission and the European Coordinator. The project operates as a transnational cooperation platform in spatial and transport planning.
