{"id":2231,"date":"2023-03-14T15:48:42","date_gmt":"2023-03-14T13:48:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rbbn.ee\/?p=2231"},"modified":"2023-03-14T17:11:58","modified_gmt":"2023-03-14T15:11:58","slug":"rbbn-end-of-year-dinner-with-henrik-hololei-and-claudio-richardson","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rbbn.ee\/en\/rbbn-end-of-year-dinner-with-henrik-hololei-and-claudio-richardson\/","title":{"rendered":"RBBN end-of-year dinner with Henrik Hololei and Claudio Richardson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In December 2022, Rail Baltica Business Network Estonia organised a traditional year-end lunch and discussion seminar for its members and guests in Tallinn.<\/p>\n<p>This time our guests were Henrik Hololei, Director General of the European Commission&#8217;s Directorate General for Transport (DG-MOVE) and Claudio Richardson, CEO of the international logistics company K\u00fchne+Nagel in Estonia.<\/p>\n<p>Both speakers stressed the continued importance and necessity of Rail Baltica as a new north-south transport corridor, especially in a world that has changed dramatically over the last year.<\/p>\n<p>According to Claudio Richardson, a large number of foreign investors and many leading logistics companies have left the Russian market, which has had a significant impact on the structure and volume of east-west freight flows. At the same time, however, he says logistics companies have shown great flexibility in finding and implementing new transport corridors, including the launch of new transport services and channels.<\/p>\n<p>Henrik Hololei confirmed that Rail Baltica continues to be one of the European Union&#8217;s highest priority infrastructure projects, which aspects of strategic security and military mobility have become even more important in the wake of Russia&#8217;s full-scale military invasion of Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>The Rail Baltica Business Network Estonia, a non-profit organisation, was established in 2015 to give businesses a better voice in issues related to the new railway and to engage the business community early in the development of Rail Baltica and the mapping of related business opportunities.
