On June 26th<\/sup>, 2019 Rail Baltica Business Network Estonia held its Annual General Meeting (AGM), where the members of the network looked back at the work done within the last year and discussed plans for future.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur business network has been an active participant in the Rail Baltica related discussions. We are pleased to note that our membership has reached 26 members. This year we successfully completed the EU-funded project aimed at mapping the business opportunities related to Rail Baltica, development of the RB business network in the Baltic States, Finland and Poland, and completed the study on the RB business case,\u201c said T\u00f5nis Tamme, board member of Rail Baltica Business Network Estonia and partner at law firm TRINITI.<\/p>\n

This time the AGM took place in the premises of a leading Estonian construction group AS Nordecon. The meeting approved the annual report for 2018, as well as the budget and plan of activities for the next year. Anvar Salomets, Technical Director of Rail Baltic Estonia O\u00dc gave an overview of key developments in the Rail Baltica project and of the planned public procurements in Estonia.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy today, the design works of the Rail Baltica railway have commenced in all three Baltic States. In Estonia, the design work is divided into three sections. The first section from Rapla to P\u00e4rnu, the second section from Tallinn to Rapla, and the third section from P\u00e4rnu to the Estonian-Latvian border,\u201d said Salomets.<\/p>\n

Salomets also introduced the construction plan of larger objects (bridges, viaducts, etc) related to the RB route in Estonia and the development stages of major railway infrastructure. \u201cDesign work of the \u00dclemiste Joint Passenger Terminal and the P\u00e4rnu passenger terminal should be both completed by the year 2021,\u201d added Salomets.<\/p>\n

Rail Baltica Business Network Estonia (www.rbbn.ee<\/a>) was established in 2015 as a non-profit organisation for Estonian enterprises interested in the business opportunities related to Rail Baltica. By today, the Estonian Business Network has 26 members, the last one to join as a supporting member was PROLOG \u2013 Estonian Supply Chain Association, an organisation with a large membership of companies active in the Estonian transport and logistics sector.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
