The main speakers were:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Guntars Ruskuls<\/strong> &#8211; <em>Head of the Strategic Planning Unit and Deputy Head Strategic Management Department, Riga City Council<\/em>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Aigars Ku\u0161\u0137is<\/strong> &#8211; <em>Territorial planner, deputy Head of Historic Centre Planning Unit, City Development Department, Riga City Council<\/em>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Viesturs Celmi\u0146\u0161<\/strong> &#8211; <em>Professor, Anthropologist working with Urban planning and Strategic Design<\/em>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Neils Balgalis<\/strong> &#8211; <em>Urban planner, Moderator and Head of Urban planning company \u201cGrupa 93\u201d<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Each of the speakers delivered their vision regarding, how Rail Baltica project could improve the infrastructure of Riga and what are the possible development possibilities, as well as new challenges for urban planners. The presentations of the speakers raised further open discussion, which involved the attendees, among whom were not only representatives of companies such as FIMA, AECOM, but also representatives of RB Rail and Eiropas Dzelzce\u013ca l\u012bnijas, FICIL building a constructive debate, regarding the development of the city&#8217;s infrastructure and the way how the companies could take part in this process.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The event took place at the European Commission representation office in Riga, Latvia, on November 29, 2017.
